Rocscience adds installation-torque analysis to RSPile's helical pile module

Rocscience has expanded the helical pile tools in its RSPile software so engineers can model installation torque alongside ultimate compression and uplift capacity in a single analysis. The update brings a new C-Phi soil type for soils that have both cohesion and friction, more parameter controls and a combined torque-capacity results view. The torque calculations first appeared in RSPile version 3.033 in June 2026, and the company described the full feature set in a July 15 article.

Why it matters

Designers can predict the torque a pile should reach before it goes in, so field torque logs can be checked against the design.
