About Grip-Tite

Grip-Tite Manufacturing Co., LLC is based in Winterset, Iowa. According to the company history, it began in 1921 as Wei-Lock Manufacturing, took the Grip-Tite name in 1937 and became owned by the Johnson family, with Mike Johnson purchasing the remaining stake in 1998. The company received a U.S. patent (4,189,891) for its Grip-Tite Wall Anchor System in 1980.

Grip-Tite organizes its business into utility solutions (earth anchors for the construction and utility industries), foundation repair and contract manufacturing. Its foundation repair products are sold through a network of certified dealers and distributors. The company says it is Buy America certified and USDA Rural Utilities Service approved.

Grip-Tite holds separate ICC-ES evaluation reports for its helical pile, push pier and wall anchor systems. Its helical pile report covers the RDS2875 system, built on 2-7/8 inch outside diameter steel tubing with welded helical plates and external couplers, for new and existing structures under the IBC and IRC. Its push pier system uses 3 inch outside diameter pier tubes driven hydraulically against the structure.
