Alberta helical pile maker offering engineering, supply and installation for industrial and residential work
Almita Piling is a privately held helical pile company rooted in Ponoka, Alberta. Industry coverage in Piling Canada reports that it began in 1986 as Mr. Steel, founded by Ponoka teacher Adrien Trudeau, and took the Almita Piling name in 1991. The company is owned by the Lloyd family. Its main manufacturing plant is in Ponoka, with offices in Edmonton and additional facilities in Saskatchewan, Ontario and Colorado.
According to the Almita website, the company provides design, manufacturing, supply, installation and engineering services for helical pile foundations, along with distribution yards and equipment rentals. It serves oil and gas, mining, power transmission and distribution, renewable energy, rail and bridges, institutional, commercial and industrial, and residential and municipal projects in Canada and the United States. It is an ISO 9001 certified fabricator.
Almita does not publish a public installer directory. Project and supply inquiries go through the company directly, and the site invites contractors to apply to become helical installers. The company's CCMC evaluation applies to piles made at the Ponoka facility and requires installers to carry certification identification cards.
